Search Registered Documents |
Registered documents searches may be done by two different methods. One method allows users to enter the specific alphanumeric or 9-digit registration number of the document of interest, the other allows users to search all documents registered against a specific title number.
Registered documents automatically default to HTTPDownload delivery and must be downloaded before leaving SPIN 2. Users requiring email delivery must change the delivery method while in the Shopping Cart. Note: When a registered document exceeds 6500KB in size, the option for email delivery is removed.

Special Instructions |
When searching a registered document the Special Instructions field under the resulting Search Summary indicates the status of the document. |
Newly registered documents in the process of scanning cannot be added to the shopping cart; the Special Instructions field defaults to "Scan pending - retry in 24 hrs". |
When a document is online and available for download the Special Instructions field defaults to "Image available for download" and the document can be added to the shopping cart for checkout. The Add to Cart check box blanks out when a document is unavailable or has already been added to the shopping cart.

Hardcopy Documents |
Hardcopy document requests require physical delivery, take a minimum of 24 hours to complete and cannot be reordered without incurring additional charges. To avoid additional charges in the event of a system or shopping cart Error, contact the SPIN 2 Help Desk (780-422-7874) for assistance. |
A document is unavailable if it is too large for delivery by Download, Email or Fax and will be treated as a "hardcopy" document request. When a logon name is associated to a Land Titles ALTA Account number, users can submit a request for a hardcopy document search through the shopping cart; the Special Instructions field defaults to a blank box, if necessary, add any Special Instructions prior to adding the document to the shopping cart. Note: This option does not apply to credit card users who receive the message "Unavailable - Order from a Registry Agent" under the Special Instructions field and cannot add the document to the shopping cart. All credit card users must manually submit a Service Request to either Land Titles Office (the form is available to the public at Land Titles) or have a Registry Agent submit the Service Request on their behalf. |
If "No results were returned by the search", all users must manually submit a Service Request to either Land Titles Office or have a Registry Agent submit the Service Request on their behalf. Note: A screen print showing "No results were returned by the search" must accompany the Service Request.
Certified Document Copies |
Certified copies of online documents must be ordered through a Registry Agent (only certified copies of hardcopy documents will be provided by the Land Titles Office if requested.) Note: Land Titles will only provide counter service for hardcopy document requests. |
Delivery |
Online document searches can be returned by HTTP Download, Fax, or Email. Hardcopy document searches can only be returned by Courier, Call Box, Fax or Mail. Use the drop down menu in the shopping cart to select the required delivery method. Note: Download documents are delivered in an Adobe PDF file format (the Adobe Reader is required to view the document - http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html).

Search Documents by Document Number |
Use this feature to search for a specific registered document number. Enter either an alphanumeric or 9-digit document registration number. Note: Additional alphanumeric documents will become available for online search purposes as they are imaged. |
In rare instances, the same alphanumeric document number was registered in both the Edmonton and Calgary Land Titles Offices; Calgary documents are distinguished by a period after the document number. |
Search Documents by Title Number |
Enter the title number of the parcel of land you are interested in for a list of documents affecting the title; this includes historical discharged document information, if any. Note: This feature will return only those documents that affect the title and not the document that caused the title to be created (e.g., transfer, consolidation, subdivision). In most cases the 9-digit title number is the registration number of the document that caused the title to be created; use that number to Search Documents by Document Number. Alphanumeric title numbers may have a reference number under the consideration field; use that number to Search Documents by Document Number. |

In rare instances, the same title number was registered in both the Edmonton and Calgary Land Titles Offices. |

You must select the appropriate registration district prior to ordering documents, the North District (Edmonton) or the South District (Calgary); Calgary titles are distinguished by a period after the title number. |
